Advisory Platform Accelerates London-Based Startup’s Launch

Based in Novato, California, AdvisoryCloud provides entrepreneurs with one-on-one access to top executives across various industries. Since its inception, AdvisoryCloud has matched companies from all over the world with top-tier executives, helping them grow exponentially. One of these companies is SmartServe.

SmartServe is the brainchild of London-based entrepreneur Fayez Nadem, who is on a mission to revolutionize operations in the restaurant and hospitality spaces through the use of mobile apps and smart watches. In 2015, while developing a business strategy for SmartServe, Nadem realized he needed a board of directors to help him launch his company. He was on the lookout for a competent team with experience spanning industries including technology, food service, sales and marketing, and business development. His personal network proved insufficient, so he turned to AdvisoryCloud.

He posted the opportunity on the platform, and within a week received a list of potential board members. He interviewed six qualified candidates and ultimately filled his entire board with executives from the platform. The fact that all his board members lived in the United States was beneficial. Thanks to their broad networks and capabilities, Nadem was able to open SmartServe offices in New York City and Austin, Texas, alongside his base office in London. Looking into the future, he is assessing new markets for SmartServe in retail and security, and is confident his board will serve as a catalyst for the firm’s success.
